I don't know of any systems which remove the tone in the middle of the transmission. I have been running this version a few minutes now. It works well, the receiver has been quiet when there is no activity on the channel.

This happens on my radio too while listening a channel CTCSS SQ enabled. I have an SvxLink simplex node here at home which is transmitting on the freq 433.575 MHz CTCSS 127.3 Hz.

Riku, Just a minor change. You can put CTCSS SQ on the receive of the Mikkeli VHF repeater, it has tone 103.5 Hz also on the transmitted signal.
