according to gp-02 datasheet you need connect io8 pin to ground to switch module to gps+glonass mode .

Soft wire is center conductor of coax cable (~4.2cm) and works as active part of antenna, another part going to the left is shield part of cable and works as ground plane. You can take a look here for better understanding : https://www.electroschematics.com/24ghz ... l-antenna/

gps enable from cpu goes to power switch and then to gps module , just follow red wire from cpu to mt9700 and then to gps module. MT9700 pdf you can find on google.

@f1rmb I see you've tried to use N/F pin of gp-02 module, but ended with mosfet for vcc. Can i ask why ?

How radio know that GPS module is installed ? Without module in GPS menu you cant turn gps power to on and if it is powered off how radio can know that its there ? Or in any case radio is trying to power on module and listen for nmea messages and changes menu to on if messages is heard ?
