Re: New ongoing "Development" version has been created
• Play acknowledgement beep if pressing SK2 during DMR Rx changes the TG, TS or CC • Play short beep at the start of a DMR Rx signal, on voice prompt level 2 and above, if the Rx TG,TS or CC does not match the current TS,TG or CC Thank you very much especially for that, it solves a lot of possible ...

Re: On "Profiteering" and Free Software
People have suggested I do automated builds and make these available, but this would be problematic, because just the other day, I did something which worked fine on my radio, and also on 2 other Beta testers radios, but another Beta tester had serious problems and his radio hung and would not turn...

Re: On "Profiteering" and Free Software
I think I found my answer, at least for now, in another forum where it was mentioned that the 01/19/2021 firmware release was “one of the more stable and bug free versions." That gives me a solid target to move forward from the Oct. 15th version with today and your advise to watch for download numb...

Re: New ongoing "Development" version has been created
Thanks Rob
This version should be one of the more stable and bug free versions, as it mainly focused on bug fixes, and useability issues

Re: FYI. Battery power saving
OK. Thanks I think either the Flash memory works or does not work from the beginning. I don't know if 9mA / 90mA is very noticeable. Some people thing the battery lasts longer, but I have not done any tests myself to measure the increase in battery life, and it will depend on whether the radio is id...

Re: FYI. Battery power saving
I've now made a version with modified interface to the Flash memory chip, which appears to save around 8 or 9mA on the GD77, but only around 3mA on the DM1801. I don't know how much current it saves on the RD5R, but at least 3mA based on the other 2 radio types 9mA on the GD77 equates to around 10% ...

Re: On "Profiteering" and Free Software
All the releases with large numbers of downloads must be relatively stable, otherwise I'd have a lot of people complaining. Any release with very low numbers of downloads, or when there has been a second update on the same day, is likely to have problems. I try to keep the Betas as stable as possibl...

Re: On "Profiteering" and Free Software
One thing I have noticed since the overall announcement about profiteering, is that all the newer firmware versions are tagged as "pre-release." Is this just coincidence, or some some part of the issues of "for profit" addressed by not tagging any further versions of the firmware as a "release?" No...
