Maybe I screwed up by not backing up my radio before I loaded OpenGD77 on it? I was just measuring its power output and on 5W I get 6.5W, and on +W- I get 7.5W :shock: . You don't need to enable the GPS if you're static. Not quite sure what use it is to Beacon if you are static? Also, using full RF power will drain more power. Don't forget to enable Eco mode too. The APRS transmission is so short that I don't think it would have any appreciable effect on the batter...

I also just got my first APRS packet to be "heard" in manual mode - by a station 15.7 miles away. This indoors with just the stock antenna. I did turn the power up to +W- . I'm down to 66% battery after 4 hours with the GPS enabled - Does the APRS Beacon firmware drain the battery just as fast or do...
