I got this fixed. Yes I was using the same cable and radio.
To fix it I did a restore settings from the menu. once I restored settings, I powered on the radio and it worked first time.

problem with Com Driver

Today when I went to flash the radio instead of it getting a com port, I got the following error. USB device not recognised. the last USB device malfunctioned and windows does not recognise it. and when I go in to device manager I have an unknown USB device that says device driver descriptor failed....

with the new modes, I noticed you put the word contact before every talkgroup. can this be spoken the first time an arrow is pressed then not again? I already know I pressed the right arrow key, and, if your in follow up mode you hear contact contact contact contact contact. Just start spelling thin...

Can you give a basic overview on how to create language files or, at least a list of what you need as well as an input format?
