Re: jumbospot not needed with opengd77

The OpenGD77 firmware incorporates code that turns a GD77 into the radio portion of a simplex hotspot, attached to a Raspberry Pi computer (like the pictured ZeroW) via the USB connection - same cable used for programming the radio and updating it's firmware. Since it's a radio implemented with actu...

Re: Thanks to admission

Hello Carlo, and welcome to the project and this forum.

Try the OpenGD77 firmware. It's remarkable how much better this is for Amateur Radio usage.

Re: Hello

Hi, and welcome to a great project. You'll find that Roger and the team's work is of very high quality, and that the firmware load process is reliable and solid. Just follow the directions to set things up properly on your computer. There are a number of major improvements in the way you configure c...

Re: TX on FRS frequencies?

FRS is a license free, FM only (no DMR) low power radio service for personal usage in the USA. It requires the use of type accepted equipment. Once you've replaced the firmware, you've lost any type acceptance that the hardware may have been granted for this service by the FCC. I'd recommend use of ...

Re: Off Topic, but, PLEASE, read !

The key would be to find out which DMR L2/L3 processor chip the radio uses. Is it the same C6000 that has already been reverse engineered?

Re: DMR issue, red flashes and does ne tx

Repeater offsets vary in different countries. In the USA, if it's a UHF repeater, it's generally +5Mhz. If VHF is is + or - 600khz. Most repeater owners publish their input and output frequencies as well as color code they use, and time slots being supported (with the associated static talkgroups) w...

Re: Unable to load DM-1801 Unstable Firmware with CPS Loader

Please, someone post a copy of a working DM-1801 calibration page for UHF and VHF.

Both my radios have failed, so something in the calibration must be causing the problem.

The failure is occurring on both stock and OpenDM1801 firmware so I doubt it's in the firmware code itself.
