Re: Hotspot Mode Fails 3/15/2020 Firmware and new Loader

Hi Daniel, I've attached a zip file with my configuration information as well as a video showing the failure. Marc Pi-Star_Config_pi-star-gd77_29-Mar-2020x.zip I have placed the video file (38mb) temporarily on my google drive at: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1gXRrouQowq8yD0I-PDvxTn32tS0SPu_4

Re: Hotspot Mode Fails 3/15/2020 Firmware and new Loader

When I turn the GD77 on, it is on one of the programmed channels, and displaying the alpha description from CPS. This channel is a Private (not group) definition on TS1. 446.075mhz. I start PiStar. The radio is attached to the Raspberry Pi as always. I see MMDVMHost initialize the GD hotspot. The di...

Hotspot Mode Fails 3/15/2020 Firmware and new Loader

I loaded the 3/15/2020 firmware [bc46565] signature onto a couple GD-77 radios, and setup things with an external antenna replacing the radio mounted one. While this seems to work initially, it stops receiving local signals after brief operation (seems to receive the first local transmission, then n...

Re: PTT weirdness (and Mobilinkd TNC2)

The physical connector is the same, but the wiring of the connector is different for USB. Baofeng uses one, and TYT and Radioddity use another (reversing polarity). I'm not sure if this reverses polarity of the audio as well, but it's a possibility, as is a different scheme for PTT. That said, I kno...

Re: PTT weirdness (and Mobilinkd TNC2)

The device description I read from their website describes a simple "KISS" modem interface for the audio from a radio to and from an Internet connection. I did a quick read of their documentation. I'm not completely clear on how it could be used with DMR as a hotspot, especially using only the audio...

Re: [Sunday tests] Updated firmware loader.

Tested the 3/22/2020 Firmware loader on both a GD-77 and a DM-1801.

Detect worked properly.

Download and flash worked properly for both radios.

Platform here is Win 10 64 bit, Version 1909 OS Build 18363.720.

Re: GD-73

This radio (available as the Radioddity GD-73 as well as the TYT MD-430 (which includes a desk charger, which is not available from Radioddity) are likely the same radio. They both program with the same software. These are made with a USB interface for both charging and programming. It is on the sid...
