Re: Google safe browsing blocks site

I did not forget its history. I'm aware that means it can't be under an open source license. That's why I added cheaper options for non open source software.

Or are you implying that its provenance might be a reason not to sign it?

Re: Google safe browsing blocks site

Software signing costs at least $1000 per year, and may not prevent these false positives. If the code were under open source licenses, you could sign your code for as little as €49.00. https://shop.certum.eu/open-source-code-signing-on-simplysign.html Without an open source license, it's closer to...

Re: What changed in the firmware .zip files?

In case anyone is curious, I found the bug in the LiteSpeed Web Server's PHP autoindex script and reported it to them. They were using the filesystem number of blocks allocated times 512 byte blocks instead of the actual size of the file. Filesystems vary in how they store files, and thus the number...

Re: What changed in the firmware .zip files?

Ah, well I did find a copy of OpenDM1701.zip from before the change, and the old and new files match when downloaded, so whatever changed, it's the web server or the filesystem behind it, and not the files themselves. Apologies for any false alarm.

Re: What changed in the firmware .zip files?

Ah, I mis-guessed what the .gla files were, then. Or forgot, if I knew. If you download the 2023-09-15 firmware today, the .zip files are 4k larger than they were when originally released. For example OpenGD77.zip was 212k, but now it's 216k, at the same location, and OpenDM1701.zip was 224k, but no...

What changed in the firmware .zip files?

I noticed that the firmware .zip files grew on Thursday, without adding a new version. It looks like maybe the voice files have been added to the .zip files. That makes a lot of sense to me, especially if they can be different depending on which firmware, but I was curious to hear confirmation if th...

Re: DM 1702

I agree that it's unrealistic to expect someone else to volunteer time to develop for a particular piece of hardware, but expressions of rage and accusations of selfishness damage the community. Please be polite and kind when helping set expectations.

Re: Analog roundtrip through codec?

:. And you suggest to perform encoding and deconding concurrently to suppress the noise. I'm afraid that these CPUs don't have enough power to do it in real time. Software doing things concurrently on a single core is just more software making context switches between the two tasks. I wasn't sugges...

Re: Analog roundtrip through codec?

Audio codecs are there for another purpose - for limiting the bandwidth. Their algorithms don't try to eliminate any artifacts in the signal, they just limit its bandwidth. The trick is to encode the signal directly from the mike, without any interferences. Small amount of errors during transmissio...
